Monday, June 26, 2017: Our excellent driver, Jose, brought us to the seaside town of Machalilla. This town is completely surrounded by the Machalilla National Park of Ecuador.... a small town, but very lovely!

We arrived at our lodging for the night - Hosteria Algorrobo Machalilla - and later met the owner, Tito (quite a character). What a beautiful view from the many balconies facing the sea!
We had a very comfortable, cozy room, with a neat little seating area outside.

Not much for restaurants in this small village, so we took a "tuk tuk" (50 cents apiece) to the edge of town to this wonderful little place - Cabana Sol y Mar
Angel and his wife prepared us wonderful fish dinners - although we haven't had a piece of fish in this country that was not totally fresh and excellent!

And so for our brief visit to Machalilla, it's time for some breakfast (oh my goodness! fresh fruit, fresh passion fruit juice!), and time to head south to Puerto Lopez...
